7 Sure Tips To Grow Your Natural Products Business With Instagram In 2023

Has anyone been hearing about the “Great Reset” and the recession looming upon everyone soon? I don’t mean to be a conspiracy theorist, but things are going to be different in terms of government policing and economic power. The rights of humanity are slowly being taken away for the ushering in of a new world order.

What does this mean for us? Well, get right with God and build a relationship with our Creator. Otherwise, tough financial times are looming ahead, but you can still make a living from selling your DIY body care products like body scrubs, natural and organic shampoos, bath bombs, body oils and body butters.

Social media and its power is not going anywhere soon, and every business owner needs to be listing on Instagram, and here’s why:

Why You Should List Your Products On Instagram

  1. IG is a search engine like Google, in a way. People go there looking for shops and products to find what they are looking for, and also to windowshop and purchase later.
  2. Who isn’t on IG? According to Google, 1.8 billion people are on the platform. Gen Z  and other young customers will be expecting any legitimate and quality business to have an updated IG shop, where they can click and order.

How To Set Up Quickly.

Open an IG personal account and convert it seamlessly to a business account. Do this first, then you can open an Instagram shop that can be listed on the marketplace and find buyers. Be sure to go through Instagram’s commerce policies first.

Then open the Meta Commerce Manager and finish setting up. You can even link your Facebook Marketplace account.

Tip #1: Have A Sizeable Collection of Quality Photos

You need a collection of 100+ photos of your products. You don’t want to keep taking new photos every now and then, to save time. Good photographs of what you sell don’t always have to be made using lights and expensive equipment. Head over to my blog post archives for an article guiding you on how to take professional, quality photos of your natural products.

Tip #2: Have A Unique, Signature Aesthetic.

Let your buyers associate you with something nobody else has. You. I encourage you to express your own taste of color, designs, and visuals. Especially in the posters, labels or captions you use. A cool logo, color design palette or even quote is enough.

Tip #3: Use Hashtags Wisely And Scarcely.

Hashtags are still essential and crucial for your shop to make it in searches and improve your shop’s SEO (search engine optimization). However, this can backfire on you if you use too many hashtags and make your account appear spammy.

Tip #4: Engagement Is Key.

Don’t just post and go. The IG algorithm has to know your account is alive and legit. Some effort is required to engage in other people’s accounts by liking and commenting. I usually time myself for 10 minutes each day, and that’s enough to keep my account lively and get familiarized to customers.

Tip #5: Collabo With An Influencer.

Influencer partnerships work. If you find an influencer that matches the mission and intent of your business, you can approach them and ask them to post your products for payment or free products.

Tip #6: Use IG Reels

Reels are the vertical, short videos on IG. They are inspired by TikTok which has now taken over the world. Now, according to this article, reels receive 22% more engagement than normal videos.

Bonus Tip : Make Your IG Post Automatically.

Imagine how time-saving this can be! I wrote a whole section about this topic in my first, free e-book, The Ultimate Natural Products Startup Guide. The secret is to use a content scheduling app for automatic posts on your IG profile, and even stories.

Personally, I’m not a fan of social media, but ironically, I advise people on how to use it for their businesses for a living!  Social media has the power to make you money. Your organic soaps, lotions and deodorants can find a loyal client base on IG. It’s worth the try.
